Turnkey retrofit of the diesel generator power management system of a large mega yacht, replacing ageing and obsolete generator control technology with modern, OEM-supported architecture.
The project addressed increasing failures, spare parts scarcity and long-term support risks affecting the vessel’s diesel generator control systems. For a yacht of this size and operational profile, reliable auxiliary power management was essential for onboard safety, operational continuity and long-term vessel availability.
MAS delivered a modern power management solution based on Woodward easYgen-3500XT controllers, covering the vessel’s main and emergency diesel generator sets. The project was undertaken on a turnkey basis, including engineering, procurement, development, installation, commissioning and support for class approval.
This project highlights MAS’ capability to deliver maritime Power Management System retrofits for complex yacht and vessel power generation environments for reliability, generator coordination and class approval.
MAS engineered a complete diesel generator power management retrofit based on Woodward easYgen-3500XT controllers, covering generator control systems, diesel generator control upgrades, automatic generator operation, isochronous operation, kW and kVAr load sharing and load-dependent start / stop logic.
MAS integrated shore connection synchronisation, emergency diesel generator synchronisation, soft transfer operation, HMI integration, Modbus TCP/IP communication, SCADA systems, full system testing, commissioning and Lloyd’s Register approval.
