Capitalizing on its inhouse engineering expertise and partnership with Woodward, Inc., MAS S.A., successfully retrofitted a total of 12 new Woodward ProAct Gen3 electrical actuators for three vessels of Springfield Shipping Company.
The retrofit was executed on the vessels in the seas of Japan and China, successfully resolving reliability issues, stemming from the use of electrical actuators from a different brand.
Springfield Shipping is a dynamic technical manager of the prominent
Olympic Shipping and Management S.A. and manages a fleet made up of 18 double-hulled tankers.
🔸 ProAct Gen3 actuators comes from the ProAct™ state-of-the-art Actuator Series of the American leading Manufacturer Woodward, Inc.. The four actuators on each vessel are responsible for the adjustment of the fuel racks of the 24.5 MW engines, therefore it is very important that they have a seamless and predictable operation.
