Combining the advantages of a traditional mechanical governor, such as UG- 8 and 3161, with state-of-the-art control algorithms, UG – 25+ will give you a much needed flexibility that will optimize your engine operation. Woodward UG – 25+ is a microprocessor controlled governor, mechanical/hydraulic amplified, that is suitable for gasoline, gas, diesel and dual fuel engine, as well as steam turbines. Ιt is a fast-acting, high work output governor that will read any alterations and respond swiftly, feeding your engine, without the need of auxiliary devices, such as a start booster. Two work output versions are available, the 25 and 31 ft-lbs.
This modern governor offers enhanced control capabilities by using a PC to adjust and download configuration data. Speed control with software selectable speed set points is easily achieved. Dynamics, fuel limiting and start behaviour are only a few of its features. Start Fuel Limiter (SFL) prevent over fueling at start-up, while Max Fuel Limiter prevents overloading at rated speed. The additional fuel limiting (jump rate) improves the engine load acceptance and reduces transient emissions significantly, thus reducing the impact on our environment.
The Front panel with its external speed settings gives you easy manual control making synchronization and load sharing easy for generator applications. The pre-set via PC service tool parameters for Droop, load limit and stability can be adjusted between 0-10%, using three external knobs on the front panel. Adjustable droop function allows load division and balancing among parallel operated prime movers. The load limiter knob permits you to limit the governor output manually.
The UG-25+ uses a 1034 kPa (150 psi) internal operating pressure with an internal oil pump driven from the governor’s drive shaft. Oil pressure is maintained by a relief valve system with a drain to an internal oil sump.
A 4–20 mA speed setting is available for variable speed applications.
